This tutorial will show you how to transfer files in
SmartFTP. Let's start by connecting to your local files. Now let's connect to server. In order to view both browsers, let's tile the horizontally. OK, let's locate the files in our local browser that we wish to transfer. Now that the local files are ready, lets set up the remote server to the right directory. Depending on your server's configuration, your site files will be located in a directory called something like public_html or httpdocs or WWW or public or
something similar. Now that we have the source directory and the destination directory open, we are ready to transfer the files. If you wish to transfer more than one file, highlight the first file then while holding down the Shift key, click on the last file. Once highlighted, simply drag the files to the remote directory. You will be prompted to replace existing files if they already exist in the destination folder. It's just as easy to download a file from the server. simply drag it down to your local browser. You can specify whether you transfer specific files in Binary or ASCII mode. You can leave it in Auto mode, or set it manually here.
That's it! You are now able to transfer files in
SmartFTP.
